DONOR EGG
PROGRAMME

DONOR EGG PROGRAMME

Some women may not be able to conceive with their own eggs. These include women with:

  • • Premature menopause (cessation of menstruation under the age of 40)
  • • Non-functioning ovaries since birth (e.g. Turner’s syndrome)
  • • Ovaries damaged by chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment for cancer
  • • Poorly functioning ovaries due to older age
  • • High risk of passing on genetic disorders to their offspring

For such cases, use of donor eggs provides the only chance to attain a pregnancy and deliver a healthy baby. We accept healthy women between the ages of 18-35, with no family history of genetic or inheritable diseases, as egg donors. We screen all potential donors to confirm absence of infections, diseases or any transmissible genetic conditions.

Egg donor treatment is similar to the initial phase of IVF cycle, where the donor’s treatment ends after egg collection. All the eggs collected from the donor are used for the recipient’s treatment. These eggs are then fertilized with the sperm of the recipient’s partner and the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient’s womb.
